Interview with DVR’s Joop Helbers in CLM (Chemical Logistics Magazine)

Bernadine Kok-Snijder from VNCW (The Association for Chemical Logistics) interviewed our Safety & Quality Manager, Joop Helbers, for CLM. As DVR’s expert in QHSE and Seveso regulations, Joop shares insights from his 25-year career with the company and e.g. explains how DVR became a Seveso facility

DVR currently manages 32,500 m² of storage capacity for hazardous substances and commercial goods, supported by a specialized team focused on safety and regulations such as BRZO/SEVESO. A key focus of the company is the storage of lithium batteries, which presents challenges related to certification of fire suppression systems and compliance with PGS 37-2 standards.

DVR places a strong emphasis on safety, with rigorous checks during the inbound process, regular training sessions, and education. Although there are no immediate plans for expansion, the company expects to make adjustments in the future to comply with evolving regulations.
